HELP FOR PARISH AND TOWN COUNCILS TO DO MORE
Hampshire Conservative Councillors have backed a £ 500,000 fund to help Town and Parish Councils provide local services that their local communities.
The details are being worked out but those Parish and Town Councils that want, for instance, to increase the frequency of grass verge cutting in their village could get one off help in purchasing necessary equipment. This will be on top of the village lengthsman scheme that is being extended.
Yet again Lib Dems opposed this at the November County meeting offering no alternative proposal of their own. At the meeting of the “Hampshire Partnership” on 1st November the representative of town and parish councils told the Conservative leader that this proposal was strongly supported.
